    Atlas: Database of exhibits

    Atlas allows the direct online consultation of 30, 000 works of art exhibited in the Louvre. Online visitors can access the basic information displayed on labels accompanying works in the museum, together with authoritative commentary and analysis by the curators and staff. The Atlas database in English has been made possible through the generosity of American Friends of the Louvre.

    Inventory of the Department of Prints and Drawings

    The online illustrated inventory of the Department of Prints and Drawings provides access to the drawings, cartoons, pastels, and miniatures listed in the original handwritten inventories of the Cabinet des Dessins of the Musée du Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay. It also includes drawings from the Edmond de Rothschild Collection, drawings from French private collections confiscated to Germany during World War II and assigned to the Office des Biens Privés, paintings on paper and miniatures on loan from the Department of Paintings, and autograph drawings from the Cabinet des Dessins.

    Online catalogue of Coptic ceramics—the Clémence Neyret database

    The Clémence Neyret database provides an online catalogue of the Coptic ceramics in the Louvre, most of which were found during the archaeological excavations of the 19th and early 20th centuries. A number of historical and thematic studies supplement this database.

    Base Joconde

    Joconde: Database of the collections of the state museums of France

    The collective catalogue of the state museums of France is managed by the Direction des Musées de France (Directorate of French museums) under the French Ministry of Culture. Its aim is to take inventory of and promote the rich collections of French museums in the fields of archeology, the fine arts, the decorative arts, European and non-European ethnology, history, and science and technology.
    Over 300,000 descriptions of artworks, often illustrated with one or more images, are available for consultation free of charge. These extensive resource materials are enriched and updated on a permanent basis, with over 140 museums in France contributing to the database.

    The digital edition of Eugène Delacroix's correspondence provides online access to a diplomatic transcription of texts paired with photographs of the manuscripts.
    The painter's correspondence, currently comprising more than a thousand letters written over the course of his career, is a vital source of information about the artist and his time.

    Images d'Art: Database of the artworks from french museums

    The Images d’Art website enable people to discover, collect and share photographs of more than 500,000 works held in French museum collections.

    The website’s interface has been specifically designed to allow everyone, including non-specialists, to discover the wealth of works held in the collections of French museums, free of charge, simply by visiting the Image d’art website. Visitors can put together image albums, add accompanying text and share them. Teachers, pupils, students and the general public are encouraged to download images for educational use. Images d’art provides information on works and artists as well as links to specific and recognized resources.

    Rose Valland - Musées Nationaux Récupération

    The Rose Valland website presents artworks from wartime plundering that have been recovered and entrusted to French national museums under the Ministry of Culture and Communication, as well as relating documentation.
    The aim of the website is to provide universal and permanent access to these "MNR" artworks, along with information on their provenance.
    The site is divided into two separate sections:
    - the register of MNR artworks in the custody of French museums,
    - historic documentation comprising reference resources, a selection of French legal texts and major international conventions, as well as a page of links to French and foreign websites. These pages also mention a number of artworks that are not MNRs.

    In line with the measures taken by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Musée du Louvre and Musée National Eugène Delacroix are closed up until Tuesday December 1, 2020.
